Where It Works

Shou Sugi Ban cladding is typically used on exterior walls, but is applied just as effectively indoors. A small section behind a reception desk or fireplace can lift a space without needing much else around it. It also works well alongside metal, concrete, and natural stone.

Profiles, Sizes, and BAL Options

We supply Shou Sugi Ban in Calitris (White Cypress) and a small range of Australian hardwoods, both strong performers in harsh weather, and both suited to the charring process.

Boards come in the following sizes:

• 88mm wide (70mm cover) x 21mm thick
• 138mm wide (120mm cover) x 21mm thick

Profiles include shiplap, square edge, and tongue-and-groove. Batten styles are also available if you’re after a screen or architectural detail. Most boards are pre-finished and can be fixed horizontally or vertically depending on the look you’re going for.
