Decking Oil & Paint
Decking Oils, Stains and Paint in Melbourne
Melbourne weather is hard on an exposed deck — UV through summer, water sitting on the boards through winter. What you put on the timber, and how well you prepared it first, decides whether the deck looks good in five years or needs a sander. We stock the full sequence: strip, clean, oil, maintain.
Decking oils and finishes
Sceney’s is made in Australia for Australian conditions: Timber Decking Oil and Weatherproof Oil for general decking, Spectradeck and Spectradeck + for a tinted finish, and pure Tung Oil. Intergrain Universal Timber Oil covers most hardwoods and takes a colour additive if you want to shift the tone. CUTEK EXTREME CD50 is an oil that works from inside the board rather than sitting on top, which suits dense hardwoods like Merbau and Spotted Gum.
Fence and heritage finishes
Sceney’s Fence Black and Bituminous Black for fence posts and below-ground timber, Fence Finish in an eco-friendly formulation, and Stockholm Tar for traditional and heritage work.
Preparation and stripping
Most oil failures are preparation failures. Intergrain UltraPrep Tannin & Oil Remover lifts tannin bleed and old oil; UltraPrep Timber Cleaner then brings back grey, stained or mould-affected timber. CUTEK Wood Stripper takes off old coatings, Quickclean handles general cleaning and Restore brings greyed timber back before you re-oil.
Applicators
Intergrain Deckbrush and replacement applicator heads, which lay oil down far more evenly than a roller and get into the board gaps.
