Tasmanian Oak, American Oak, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Sydney Blue Gum, Brushbox, Grey Ironbark and Messmate as solid tongue-and-groove boards: a floor that can be sanded and refinished for decades, laid over joists, battens or a plywood sheet on the slab.
A real timber wear layer on a stable core, so the boards suit concrete slabs, apartments and underfloor heating. European Oak in the widest range of colours and finishes, Australian species, the Tudorwood Luxx 240 wide board, and herringbone and chevron parquetry.
Hybrid boards have a rigid, waterproof stone-polymer core for kitchens, laundries and rentals. Laminate gives a timber look at the lowest price with a hard-wearing surface. Both click together over underlay.
Choosing a floor
Solid for a period home or a floor you will refinish; engineered for a slab, an apartment or underfloor heating; hybrid where water is a risk; laminate for budget and rentals. Adhesives from Wakol and Mapei, underlay and trims are in flooring accessories.
