Structural timber in Melbourne
Greenhill Timbers stocks structural timber at our yard at 170 Settlement Road, Thomastown, with pickup or delivery across Melbourne and regional Victoria: MGP10 framing pine, H3 treated pine, LVL beams, LOSP primed pine, H4 treated and cypress posts, and dressed Merbau. Every size is priced per metre and cut to length, and we deliver to site.
MGP10 radiata pine from 70 × 35 mm to 290 × 45 mm in 2.4 to 6.0 m lengths, from $3.21 a metre, machine graded under AS/NZS 1748 so it can be used straight from the AS 1684 span tables. STRUCTAflor Yellow Tongue flooring sheets, speed brace and F22 ply brace for the rest of the frame.
H3 LOSP treated MGP10 in 70 × 45 to 290 × 45 mm for deck frames, pergolas, carports and fence rails, plus Lowdeck GL8 H4 bearers for low decks and plinths. H3 is for timber above the ground; anything in the ground needs H4.
MeySPAN LVL 14 from 90 × 45 up to 400 × 45 mm for lintels, roof beams and deck bearers that outgrow sawn pine, straight and consistent in a way solid timber cannot be.
H4 CCA treated laminated posts in 88, 112, 135 and 185 mm for the ground, LOSP primed posts for painted verandahs, cypress 100 × 100 fence posts, and solid-face Merbau posts for pergolas, with galvanised stirrups and concrete. Pickets, posts, rails and plinths for a fence are together under picket fencing.
Kiln-dried Select Grade Merbau in 42 × 19 up to 290 × 42 mm for pergola beams, rafters, fascias, handrails and screens: Class 1 durable above ground, termite resistant and accepted to BAL-29.
