EVERTEX Essence is a solid PVC deck board, 140 × 24 mm and 5.4 m long, with double ASA capping on every face. It is tested to BAL-29, carries a P4 wet slip rating and comes in eight timber-look colours with a 25-year warranty.

Product Description

Essence is the core board in the EVERTEX range: full PVC rather than a wood-plastic composite. The core is solid PVC and the board is capped in ASA on all sides, so there is no wood fibre in it to take up water.

What the PVC core changes

A composite board has wood fibre in the core. A PVC board has none, which is why it suits pool surrounds, coastal sites and other damp spots. ASA is the capping polymer that carries the colour and the UV, scratch and stain resistance. EVERTEX also designs the surface to stay more comfortable underfoot in summer.

Boards in the range

Grooved board, 140 × 24 mm: grooved on both edges for concealed fixings, so the finished deck shows no screws. Edge board, 140 × 24 mm: grooved on one side and finished on the other, for the outside run and stair treads. Fascia board, 200 × 12.5 mm: covers the frame around the sides of the deck. All three are 5.4 m long and come in all eight colours.

Curved decks

EVERTEX rates Essence as suitable for selected curved designs as well as straight runs. The photos above show a rounded deck in Gold Teak and a curved edge in Native Blackbutt.

The frame under it is the same as any deck; see H3 treated pine for joists and bearers and decking accessories for joist tape and hardware. Brand: all EVERTEX products.
