CUTEK® Restore

CUTEK® Restore (formerly CUTEK® Proclean) is a powerful timber cleaning agent that restores stained, weathered and grey wood back to its original appearance.

CUTEK® Restore is effective in removing stubborn stains caused by tannins, water, iron, resins, mould and fungus. It also removes the common invisible glaze (mill glaze) to prepare newly sawn or machined timber for coating.

CUTEK® Restore will brighten, clean and restore wood to look like new, ready for CUTEK® Extreme CD50 or CUTEK® Wood Preservative.

TYPICAL USES

  • Restoration of stained or high traffic areas such as decks, marine jetties, boardwalks, etc.
  • Rejuvenation of external and weather affected or greyed timber such as decking, cladding, fences, shingles, etc.

CUTEK® Restore will not remove paint and wood coatings from your timber. In these instances, remove with CUTEK® Wood Stripper.

Janka rating, also known as Janka hardness test, is a measure of the hardness of wood. It is a standardized test that measures the amount of force required to embed a small steel ball into a piece of wood. The Janka rating is expressed in kN (kilonewton), and the higher the rating, the harder the wood.

The Janka rating is commonly used to determine the suitability of a particular wood species for use in flooring, furniture, and other applications where durability is important. Some woods with high Janka ratings include Brazilian Walnut, Hickory, and Brazilian Cherry, while woods with lower Janka ratings include Pine and Cedar.

It is important to note that while the Janka rating can provide a useful indication of a wood's hardness, it does not necessarily reflect other important characteristics of the wood, such as its resistance to decay, its stability, or its appearance.
