ModWood

ModWood is Australian composite decking made in Melbourne from recycled plastic milk bottles and ground wood waste: 137 × 23 mm and 88 × 23 mm boards, 5.4 m long, splinter-free, for home decks on joists up to 450 mm apart, with a 10-year residential warranty.

• Sizes: 137 × 23 mm and 88 × 23 mm, both 5.4 m long
• Colours: Sahara, Black Bean, Jarrah and Silver Gum
• Slip rating: R11 for the 137 mm board and R10 for the 88 mm board (AS 4586); ModWood suggests Aqualis Traction coating where P4 or P5 is required
• Joist spacing: 450 mm centres maximum on homes, less under concentrated loads
• Fixing: KlevaKlip Snap-Loc concealed clips (KSL137N and KSL88N), or nail or screw fixing
• Warranty: 10 years residential and 7 years commercial against rot, warping, cracking, splitting, splintering and termite damage; fading, staining and mould are not covered
• Bushfire: ModWood says its standard boards must not be used in BAL-rated zones; its Flame Shield range is the bushfire option
• Recycled content: more than 85% recycled material
