Trex Transcend is a capped composite deck board made from 95% recycled plastic film and reclaimed sawdust: 140 × 25 mm and 5.48 m long, in grooved boards for Trex’s hidden fasteners or square-edge boards for screw fixing, backed by 50-year limited residential and fade & stain warranties.

Size: 140 × 25 mm × 5.48 m; Trex makes 4.8 m and 6.1 m lengths to special order
Colours: Havana Gold, Island Mist, Lava Rock, Spiced Rum and Tiki Torch
Joist spacing: 350 mm centres for decks in the sun, 450 mm under a permanent solid roof (Trex’s CodeMark certificate)
Gaps: 5 mm between boards; 3 mm end to end when laid above 4.5 °C, 5 mm below (Trex’s Australian installation guide)
How much for a deck: with a 5 mm gap each m² takes about 6.9 lineal metres of board, so a 20 m² deck needs about 26 boards at 5.48 m, plus offcuts
Fixing: grooved boards use the Trex Universal Hidden Fastener and Start Clip on timber joists; square-edge boards are screwed like timber
Bushfire: CodeMark certified for bushfire-prone areas up to BAL-19, with adjacent walls and the deck substructure built to AS 3959
Warranty: 50 years residential, 10 years commercial, pro-rated from year 11; for stain cover, spills need cleaning within a week
Heat: Trex notes darker colours feel hotter in the sun; Trex Lineage adds Trex’s heat-mitigating technology
Care: soap and water; if you use a pressure washer, keep it at 3100 PSI or less
