Trex Composite Lineage

Trex Transcend Lineage is Trex’s heat-mitigating capped composite deck board: 140 × 25 mm and 5.48 m long, made from 95% recycled and reclaimed materials, rated P5 for slip under AS 4586 and backed by a 50-year limited residential warranty.

• Size: 140 × 25 mm × 5.48 m, in grooved or square-edge boards
• Colours: Biscayne, Carmel, Jasper and Rainier
• Heat: Trex says Lineage cuts heat build-up by up to 20 °C compared with its original boards (tested on a light colour); it still gets hot in direct sun, especially the darker colours
• Slip rating: P5 under AS 4586 (wet pendulum test)
• Joist spacing: 350 mm centres for decks in the sun, 450 mm under a permanent solid roof (Trex’s CodeMark certificate)
• Gaps: 5 mm between boards; 3 mm end to end when laid above 4.5 °C, 5 mm below (Trex’s Australian installation guide)
• How much for a deck: with a 5 mm gap each m² takes about 6.9 lineal metres of board, so a 20 m² deck needs about 26 boards at 5.48 m, plus offcuts
• Bushfire: CodeMark certified for bushfire-prone areas up to BAL-19, with adjacent walls and the deck substructure built to AS 3959
