Treated pine post 185 × 185 mm, H4 CCA treated and glue-laminated to GL8 grade. H4 is the hazard class for timber in contact with the ground under AS 1604, so these posts go straight into the ground for fence, pergola, carport and verandah posts. Kiln-dried and finger-jointed, they stay straighter than solid-heart sawn posts. Lengths: 2.7, 3.0 and 3.6 m. Sold per post from 170 Settlement Road, Thomastown, with pickup or delivery across Melbourne.

Product Description

A 185 × 185 mm laminated treated pine post for in-ground use. The CCA (copper chrome arsenate) treatment is to H4, the in-ground hazard class, and the post is built up from kiln-dried finger-jointed laminates to GL8 structural grade, so it has no pith centre and is far less likely to twist or split than a solid sawn post.

Use it for: fence posts including picket fences, pergola and verandah posts set in concrete, carports and gate posts.

CCA rules: CCA-treated timber is approved for posts, fencing and structural work. It is not permitted for decking boards, handrails, garden furniture or children’s play equipment; use the LOSP primed posts or a hardwood for those.

Lengths: 2.7, 3.0 and 3.6 m, priced per post. Set the buried end in Rapid Set Concrete; a coat of Sceney’s Bituminous Black on the buried section adds a moisture barrier.
