James Hardie Hardie Fine Texture Fibre Cement Cladding 8.5mm is a fibre cement external cladding board. Fibre cement holds its shape through Melbourne’s wet winters and dry summers far better than timber boards of the same profile — it does not swell, cup or split, and it will not feed termites. It carries a BAL40 bushfire rating when installed as part of a compliant system.
Why fibre cement
The board arrives straight and stays straight, so the reveal lines stay consistent across a long elevation. It takes paint well and, once sealed and coated, the maintenance cycle is repainting rather than replacing.
