Sceney’s Bituminous Black is a bitumen coating for waterproofing and weather protection. Sceney’s rates it one of the best products for timber post ends, the part of a post that sits in the ground.

Product Description

Bituminous Black is a heavy-duty bitumen coating for the buried end of timber posts — the part of the job that fails first. Coat the section going into the ground before you set the post, and you put a thick black moisture barrier between the timber and the wet soil that causes rot.

Standard practice on fence posts, pergola and verandah posts, retaining wall timbers and sleepers. Cheap insurance against pulling the whole thing out and starting again in a few years.

Available from our Thomastown yard in 4L, 10L and 20L, with delivery across Melbourne.
