LOSP primed pine in Melbourne

Greenhill Timbers stocks H3 LOSP primed pine at our yard at 170 Settlement Road, Thomastown, with pickup or delivery across Melbourne and regional Victoria. LOSP is a light organic solvent preservative: the timber is treated dry, so it stays straight, comes primed and undercoated from the mill, and takes a top coat without the green tint of CCA. H3 is the above-ground rating for fascias, pergolas, verandah posts and trims that see weather but never touch the ground.

What we stock

Fascia and trim boards: 138 × 30, 230 × 30 and 280 × 30 mm in 5.4 and 7.2 m, for fascia, barge boards and wide trims. Framing sizes: 42 × 42, 66 × 42 and 90 × 42 mm for pergola rafters, battens and handrails, from $43.20 a length. Posts: 88 × 88, 112 × 112, 135 × 135 and 185 × 185 mm in 2.4 to 3.6 m, from $65.30, for verandahs, carports and painted picket fences.

Using LOSP timber

Keep it out of the ground: set posts on a galvanised stirrup, not in concrete. Seal every cut end with primer before fixing, then apply two coats of exterior acrylic. Where a post or beam will be in the ground or sitting wet, use the H4 treated posts instead.
