Concrete Stumps – Durable, Precast Footings That Do the Job

Concrete stumps are still the preferred choice for raised flooring systems across much of Australia, especially where soil movement, moisture, or long-term durability are a concern. Whether you're building a new home, extending a subfloor, or restumping an older property, concrete stumps offer the strength and stability to support serious loads without warping, rotting, or shifting over time.

At Greenhill Timbers, we stock two core types, both designed for practical, on-site use:

• Threaded Stumps: Fitted with a central 10mm galvanised rod, supplied with nut and washer. Ideal when using stirrups, plates, or adjustable fixings.
• Hanging Stumps: Cast with a galvanised loop for fast connection to existing bearers. Commonly used in reblocking and restumping work.

Both options are precast using high-compaction concrete and reinforced with 6.3mm steel rod/s, exceeding AS3600 and Australian Building Code standards. These are workhorse components, not decorative, not compromised, just built properly and made to last.

Sizing and Fit

• Available from 400mm to 1800mm in 100mm increments
• Section size: 100mm x 100mm
• Fully reinforced with a steel rod core
• Hanging loop or threaded rod options to suit the bearer connection style
• Locally made, with proper concrete mix strength and internal compaction

Threaded stumps give you more adjustability — useful on uneven ground or when working with custom brackets. Hanging stumps are simple, strong, and easy to fix in restumps or post replacements.
