Description
NewTechWood Soho is NewTechWood’s new budget-friendly composite deck board: a fully capped 138 × 25 mm board, 5.4 m long, made from 95% recycled material, with a 450 mm residential joist span, a BAL-29 rating and a 15-year residential warranty. Three colours: Blonde Oak, Merbau and Grey Ironbark.
- Profiles: US166R grooved board for hidden clips, and US163R edge board (square one edge, grooved the other) for deck perimeters and starter rows; both 138 × 25 mm and 5.4 m long, single-sided
- Colours: Blonde Oak (BO), Merbau (MB) and Grey Ironbark (GI)
- Slip rating: P2 wet pendulum under AS 4586 (H89 surface pattern)
- Joist spacing: 450 mm centres maximum on homes
- How much for a deck: NewTechWood allows 7 lineal metres (1.29 boards) per m², so a 20 m² deck takes about 26 boards at 5.4 m, plus offcuts
- Fixing: hidden clips on the US166R board, 17 per m² with TC28 clips or 20 per m² with MG10 clips; see NewTechWood T-clip fixing and NewTechWood decking accessories
- Weight: about 3.8 kg per metre, roughly 21 kg a board
- Bushfire: BAL-29 rated under AS 1530.8.1
- Warranty: 15-year residential warranty (NewTechWood’s warranty terms)
- Soho or Terrace? Soho is single-sided with a P2 face. For pool surrounds, commercial decks or wet areas, NewTechWood’s Terrace and Coastal boards have a P5 reverse face and a 25-year warranty.
- At Greenhill: available from 170 Settlement Road, Thomastown, with pickup or delivery across Melbourne and regional Victoria. See the full NewTechWood range.

Designed to impress, priced to surprise
Soho was developed from installer and customer feedback: a refined surface pattern, a 25 mm profile that spans 450 mm, and a tight three-colour palette chosen to work with NewTechWood’s cladding and screening. It is aimed at first-home buyers, renovators and investors who want a clean, contemporary deck without the premium price.
Fully capped
Every surface of the board, including the groove, is capped, so the board is protected against stains, mould, UV, termites and splintering, with no oiling, sanding or painting.
