Working with ironbark
Pre-drill everything; the density blunts screws and splits unpre-drilled ends. Use stainless or Class 4 coated fixings and a good penetrating oil, and allow the boards to acclimatise on site before laying. Ironbark moves little once dry, which is why it suits wide boards.
Guide: the ironbark timber guide. Compare with Grey Box and the rest of timber decking.
