Who we are

Greenhill Timbers is a family-owned timber yard and flooring showroom at 170 Settlement Road, Thomastown, in Melbourne’s north. It has been run by Kollee and June Tan since 2007, and it sells to builders, floor layers, landscapers, fencing contractors and home renovators alike. Trade and public are both welcome.

Kollee and June came to retail from the other side of the timber trade. Before opening Greenhill Timbers they imported hardwoods from around the world for Australian wholesalers, then became wholesalers themselves, with twenty years in building and construction behind them. That background still shapes the business: we buy direct from mills and importers, we know which packs to accept and which to send back, and we price accordingly.

The yard started with imported timbers, mainly Merbau decking and European and American Oak flooring. Customers asked for Australian species, so the range grew to include Spotted Gum, Blackbutt, Tasmanian Oak, ironbark, Grey Box and Silvertop Ash, sourced from sawmills around the country.

Business values

Three things Kollee and June have run the yard on since 2007:

Quality

Flooring and decking are kiln-dried and graded, and the grade is on the tag. Every species page lists its hardness, durability and bushfire rating so you can compare on facts.

Value

Buying direct and holding stock in our own yard keeps prices competitive. We quote the whole job, delivery included, so there are no surprises.

Service

Our staff work out quantities from your plans or room sizes, then pack, wrap and load the order. Delivery across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
