Hardwood Bracing Plywood (F22) serves as an optimal choice for wall and roof bracing purposes. Its utilization in timber-framed structures allows designers to incorporate expansive openings and extensive glass areas in external walls, as well as bolster additional wall strength in cyclonic regions.

Though its visibility is fleeting during the construction phase, bracing plywood provides enduring protection against wind damage throughout the building’s lifespan.

Crafted from a blend of hardwood species ethically sourced from regulated forestry and bonded with A Bond glue to meet AS2269 standards, F22 Hardwood bracing plywood is available in both untreated and H2-S treated variations (designed to combat termites).

It’s crucial to ensure that all installation procedures for bracing plywood align with the Building Code of Australia and AS 1684 – Residential Timber Framed Construction Code.

Janka rating, also known as Janka hardness test, is a measure of the hardness of wood. It is a standardized test that measures the amount of force required to embed a small steel ball into a piece of wood. The Janka rating is expressed in kN (kilonewton), and the higher the rating, the harder the wood.

The Janka rating is commonly used to determine the suitability of a particular wood species for use in flooring, furniture, and other applications where durability is important. Some woods with high Janka ratings include Brazilian Walnut, Hickory, and Brazilian Cherry, while woods with lower Janka ratings include Pine and Cedar.

It is important to note that while the Janka rating can provide a useful indication of a wood's hardness, it does not necessarily reflect other important characteristics of the wood, such as its resistance to decay, its stability, or its appearance.
