Threaded concrete stumps are the standard stump for a new floor, extension or deck: the bearer is drilled, sits on top of the stump and bolts down over the galvanised threaded rod. If you are replacing stumps under an existing house, use hanging concrete stumps instead, which fix to the side of the bearer.
