Sceney's Timber Decking Oil

Sceney’s Timber Decking Oil is a clear, natural-finish decking oil made in Australia. It soaks into the boards and leaves a protective layer on top, stopping timber from warping, cracking and drying out.

• Sizes in stock: 4 L, 10 L and 20 L
• Best for: timber decks, sheds and fences
• Finish: clear and natural, bringing out the timber’s own colour and grain. Sceney’s says it can be tinted
• Protects against: water, mould, algae and UV
• Made from: seed oil with a long-chain alkyd resin, so it both penetrates and coats
• Choosing: for a water-based decking finish, see Spectradeck; for beams, pergolas and mixed outdoor timber, Weatherproof Oil
• At Greenhill: stocked at 170 Settlement Road, Thomastown, with pickup or delivery across Melbourne and regional Victoria. See the full Sceney’s range.

Sceney's Timber Decking Oil gives a clear, natural finish and keeps boards from warping, cracking and drying out — the three things that age a deck fastest in Melbourne's climate, where boards swell through a wet winter then bake through summer.

It is one of the more natural finishes available, penetrating the timber rather than forming a surface film. A sensible default for new hardwood decks and for bringing a tired one back. Available at Thomastown in 4L, 10L and 20L — ask our team how much you'll need for your deck size.
